I have the same issue with my ruku ultra.

only the home button works.

the find remote works and it beeps.

no other buttons are working.

Before proceeding, kindly provide us with additional information such as follows:

• Is this the remote that came with your Roku Ultra? If not, what is the model of this remote? (e.g. Roku Voice Remote Pro or Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition))
• Did this happen even the first time you just paired this to your Roku device? If not, when did you start experiencing this?

In the meantime, you may try the following troubleshooting steps to help you:

Reboot your voice remote

If your voice remote has a rechargeable battery, follow the steps below below to reboot your remote

• If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
• If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home for 20 seconds.

Reboot your streaming device

Use the following steps to restart your streaming device.

1. Remove the power cable from your streaming device
2. Wait at least 5 seconds
3. Re-connect the power cable
4. Wait for your streaming device to power on, and the Home screen to appear on your TV
5. Once you see the Home screen, try to use your remote to control your device

I have the same problem where the home button works, the remote finder sound works, and everytime I put in the batteries it tries to update the remote . Has anyone found a solution to return full functionality?

Hi @Legendarydoug, greetings here in the Roku Community! 

It appears that you are experiencing an issue with your Roku remote, and we are here to help you. Before we proceed, could you please inform us if this is the original remote that came with the device?

We also suggest resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again and try using the voice command feature to see if this makes any difference.

In the meantime, you may install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to your physical remote. This works well with your Roku streaming device, which has buttons to navigate it. 

Let us know how it goes and we'll go from there.
