Hey @RokuCarly, I am having the same issue as @Kinsland5 only my Roku is a TLC Roku TV and it is fully set up with a simple remote. I bought a Roku voice remote (the model with the microphone on the left of the power button, and no pairing button under the battery cover) I follow the pairing instructions to hold and “back” and “home” buttons together for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. The green light flashes for a while then turns off. Tv just says “still looking for remote…” I have tried every troubleshooting procedure I can find online and have had no success getting my TV to recognize the remote. Remote pairing eventually times out on the tv after 20+ times trying to pair the remote.
my serial numbers are below, please help!
remote model: RC-GZ1
television model: 55S431
television serial: X000005LX2SE
television software: 13.0.0 - build 24062-93
Welcome to the Roku Community, @Jpunkay!
Thank you for letting me know about your issues pairing your Roku voice remote with your TCL Roku TV. I'd be happy to provide further information.
Using the remote that comes with your TCL Roku TV or a replacement remote purchased from TCL is highly recommended, as they manufacture their own remote, which works well with their TV. If you've successfully used the Roku Players (simple) remote to control your TV, it might be possible that it is controlling via IR.
You may contact them and request for a replacement here: TCL Support
You may also check the Roku remote that works well with your TV: Roku TV Remote
I hope you find this information helpful.
