Turned off Ad blocking on my Eero router and P+ is working again.
Paramount+ App will not play anything period. I have updated my Roku (I have updated all of them - 4 in my house). I’ve deleted the app and soft reset. I’ve cleared the catch - I’ve even tried a factory reset.
the ret of my apps are working. Paramount will load, but it will not play live tv, movies or shows. It just shows the blue spin wheel. Everything else works five - not an internet problem. The app is jacked and needs to be fixed.
Have you tried contacting Paramount plus customer support to see if there is an issue on their end?
Have you tried pulling the power plug for 30 to 60 seconds....sometimes that helps reset the cache and clear memory issues.
I have this issue as well since at least yesterday, on 50” TCL Roku TV, model 50S421. I have tried removing Paramount+ app, restarting TV, and reinstalling app, with no success.
When restarting a Roku TV, if you have "Fast TV start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart.
Instead do a "System restart" via menu options. Depending on your Roku model number you'll find the "System restart" via "Settings > System > Power". If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.
That just started happening to me yesterday. When I select Paramount+ on the menu it goes there for a few seconds and then just reverts back to the main smart TV menu. I have checked the updates on everything. All other channels Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney, Hulu, Max, Peacock, etc. work just fine.
I was just on a chat with Paramount+ customer service. So far they don't have a solution to fix the issue. Another strange thing is I have another TCL TV on the same fiber network and it will open there. Last night I was watching Landman on the Paramount+ app with no issues. An hour later I tried to open it again to watch something else and it would no longer open. All other smart channels are working just fine on both TV's. The other strange thing is if you hit the star button on the remote for any other channel you get options to reset the app or remove the app. On Paramount+ those options do not exist
Update. I pulled the power cord of the effected TV for 5 minutes and then reconnected the TV. Paramount+ now starts normally.
I'm using Nextdns for my ad blocking etc and experiencing the same problem. In my case it wasn't the attempts to connect to the Roku domain but rather pubads.g.doubleclick.net that I had to allow to get Paramount Plus working. BTW, it's pretty disturbing how many places these devices try to connect to. Am I really going to have to find a way to redirect the connections to these sites to a fake server or something just to maintain a minimal amount of privacy and still use the services I pay for?
