Hi, Community users.

We've heard reports from some of you experiencing issues with your Roku device or TV consistently dropping its internet connection. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we're here to help!

To assist us in investigating this matter further, please provide the following information (if possible):

  • Internet Service Provider (ISP): Who do you get your internet service from (e.g., Xfinity, Spectrum)?
  • Router/Modem Brand & Model: What brand and specific model of router and modem do you have?
  • Roku Device Details:
    • Model (e.g., Roku Streaming Stick+ 4K)
    • Serial Number
    • Device ID
    • Software OS/Version (You can find this information under Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID: When the connection drops, press the Home button 5 times followed by the Back button 5 times quickly. This will generate a Tracker ID. Please provide this number if possible.
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue?

In the meantime, you can try these troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the connection issue:

1. Restart Your Roku Device:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll down and select Settings.
  3. Choose System.
  4. Select Power (if available) followed by System restart.

2. Restart Your Modem and Router:

  1. Unplug both your modem and router from the power outlet.
  2. Wait for 10 seconds and then plug them back in.
  3. Allow your modem and router to fully restart.
  4. Using another device like a phone or computer, confirm your internet connection is working.
  5. Once everything has restarted, try connecting your Roku device again.

Note: We'll mark this post as solved for visibility and as a reference for other users.

We understand this can be frustrating, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Our team will be investigating this issue further with the information you provide. We'll be sure to keep you updated on our progress!

Best wishes,
Kash

Roku TV Suddenly Unable to Connect to Network

Jump to solution

About a week ago, my Roku TV stopped automatically connecting to my wifi when turning on. All other home devices are connected fine. I have reset and unplugged my router, and unplugged the tv. When in Network/setup connection menu, the wireless scan with just scan forever and not show me a list of networks. To work around this, I must do a system restart under the power menu every time I turn on the tv. Any suggestions?

Try enabling "Fast TV start" under Settings->System->Power.  Let us know if that helps.

I have the same problem.  I assume a TV software update introduced this bug a couple weeks ago.

Spoiler

I am having the same issue and like someone else posted, I think the issue stems From the June 4 update my TV received.  Posting here in hopes that someone at Roku Notice notices and realizes another update is needed to fix

I am having the same issues. I have disconnected, rebooted, check the connections (which is strong connection). When I get it connected and start to stream my channel (Hulu, Max, Pure Flix, etc) it goes to lost signal, no connection. It's even stopped in the middle of trying to set my connections in settings to reboot. It's annoying!!!

ROKU tv not connecting 2 internet, Unable to connect to wireless network.

Jump to solution

All of the sudden, my Roku tVs "not connected", for no reason. So, I have 2 go under Network> Set up connection>Wireless>Scan again and something flashes on the screen. I hit,  "Scan Again" over &over til I figure out its saying, "Looking for wireless networks" but as soon as it pops up, it disappears.

So then I choose private network cause mine is anyways, so I put in my network name and password. Up pos a box that says,  "CHECKING... Wireless Connection &it fails. "Unable to connect the wireless network." But none of my other electronics are having problems. Not sure why it cut off of my TV and why it's not letting me connect, nvr had thus problem b4 and its pissing me off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
