UPDATE: I have discovered that the app also crashes from the video end screen in a similar five minutes.
I performed a factory reset on the Roku Ultra in question. No change.
If I use the YouTube app in GUEST mode, pausing functions normally and the app does not crash. The screensaver kicks in after 10 minutes and playback resumes after a keypress as expected.
In a wild twist of plot, the YouTube app appears to be stable on my TCL RokuTV, even when logged in.
I'd just use the RokuTV, but the Ultra is about four times faster which is just this side of usable.
Thanks for keeping us updated, @944play!
As mentioned in your last post regarding the bug that you've submitted on YouTube's customer support, may we know how it went? Furthermore, if no resolution has been provided yet, kindly give us the precise information requested by @RokuERey and we'll go from there.
We're eager to find you the best resolution possible which is why we will be looking forward to your update.
Kind regards,
Carly
double post - later one has more info
I spent the better part of an hour with YouTube support last night without any insight past, "Did you try turning it off and on again?"
YouTube app version 2.20 Build 110005156 is on my TCL TV and is stable.
YouTube app version 2.23 Build 115025125 is on my Roku Ultra and crashes reliably after 5 minutes paused, or at an end screen, IF I am logged in. (4800RW X01000M3UMW S02C20A3XUMX MX-368-186)
Thanks for the added information, @944play!
