I have Spotify, and I use Photostreams as my screensaver on my Roku stick. When I start a playlist, after 5 minutes or so Photostreams starts and shows my photos just fine; however, after a period of time, Spotify just stops. I think there must be some inactivity timer in Spotify because Photosteams plays constantly if it comes on from the home screen. When Spotify stops, I use the remote back arrow, and the screen activates. Photostreams stops, and Spotify then "catches up" -- that is it shows the pictures from all the songs that were not seen after the screensaver came on. Then Spotify plays fine, but Photostreams never starts again unless I exit Spotify. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to configure the inactivity timer in Spotify?
Hi @skutac
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Does the issue only occur on Spotify or across other channels installed on your Roku device?
Have you tried removing the affected channel Spotify and then re-install again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.
For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link for more information: How do I resolve channel playback issues? | Official Roku Support United Kingdom.
Let us know if there's any difference after.

The issue only occurs on Spotify. I had to do a similar operation to what you suggest when Photostreams stopped working altogether. I will try to uninstall and re-install Spotify tomorrow and update this thread.

Just to follow up...I tried uninstalling, rebooting, and re-installing, but the issue persisted. I also tried this on my other two devices without success. Finally, I switched to Google PhotoView. It had the same problem with Spotify. Both screensavers work properly for all apps except Spotify. There has to be something the Spotify app does to cause the photo screensavers to stop working properly.
Thanks for keeping us posted.
Have you tried contacting the channel provider about that channel's features and functionality? You'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
Let us know if you need additional help.
