I just connected my new TCL (Roku) TV to my Roku soundbar model 9102x. I use an HDMI from TV to soundbar. After turning off the TV I hear, what sounds like a female voice, saying something in one short sentence. I can hear it up to 20 minutes later after turning the TV off.
The voice is also heard after changing a setting or going from main Roku page to an app.
I have turned off all optional sounds I can find in settings. Can't seem to figure it out. Help!
This sounds like the voice guide/Screen Reader has been turned on. Pressing the * button four times quickly will toggle the voice on/off. You can completely disable voice guide in the Settings/Accessibility/Screen Reader Shortcut menu.

Thank you for the quick response. I did try pressing the * button four times. Also five times, as someone mentioned.
The "disable voice guide" in the Settings/Accessibility/Screen Reader Shortcut menu is disabled.
No change.
Thanks though!.
That's the only voice that comes from the Roku player itself. So it appears you have that disabled.
What exactly was the voice saying? Did it sound like a verbal description of something that might be happening within a video? If so, you might have left a program streaming on the Roku when you turned the TV off, and you could have had the audio track selected that provides that sort of information for sight-impaired users. The way to insure that doesn't happen is to make certain you've stopped any playback before turning the TV off. Remember, turning the TV off doesn't stop whatever the Roku is doing. And since the Roku Soundbar is providing the audio, that would make sense that turning the TV off didn't stop the audio.
I just double checked. There is a check mark to the left of "disabled" Under accessability/shortcut.
I repeated the four * when on main Roku menu too.
It is a mumbled female voice talking fast. I just tried something new. One of the settings needed to be enabled before pressing * four times. Waiting now to see if it works.....
Nope, did not work. :{
I think if we knew what was being said, then we would at least have an idea of whether it’s the TV or the soundbar talking.
Dan, the TV is on the main "TCL/Roku page when I turn it off.
OK, that's the TV screen. Just to make sure we're all understanding the hardware involved: you have a TCL Roku TV and the Roku wireless soundbar. This soundbar is not one of the Streambar devices with a Roku player within it, correct?
