not sure it was a but rocky but dude use the internet to find out what the tv your buying has the feature you want badly enough to put the effort in writing the original post. 

roku OS is way less rocky than fire tv or Google TV granted I have never bought one but everything I read online, says the exact same thing about the quality of Amazon and googles OS

also, Why didn’t you want a keyboard to browse the Internet? I never understood that with Internet TV using a TV for the internet. 

Oh and I used screen mirror to write this on my TV using my phone. I didn’t want to but it made me chuckle

buy a fire stick or google think and plug it in to your tv so u can use interest that way.

sorry to ruin your rant but roku did say that they will never add a web browser sadly but if you want one so badly there is one you can get but it needs a subscription and it isn't that good

I've used a browser on a Smart TV (Samsung). It's a terrible experience when you don't have an actual keyboard and mouse/touchpad. Today's web sites are designed with the expectation of a mouse or touchscreen.

I see zero value of having a browser built into a TV or streaming player's OS. If you want to web search on your big screen, then screen share your laptop, tablet or phone onto the Roku. That works just fine.

When I bought my Roku streaming device it didn’t even occur to me that it would not have a web browser - this seems like such a simple and fundamental function! So, yeah, add me to the list of those who think it’s utterly ridiculous that Roku does not support a browser, and, worse, their response is basically “too bad.”

When I bought my first Roku player over 10 years ago, I never expected or wanted it to have a web browser. I can't think of a worse device (meaning a streaming video player) to try to browse the web on. And in the time since, I can still think of no reason I would want one. I've already pointed out, today's web sites are designed to a pointing device and keyboard for access. My Shield will accept a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but I still can't see why it would be better than a laptop that's within arm's reach. And if I find something I want to see on the big TV screen, I simply screen share it to my streaming device, such as my Roku or Shield. No need for a browser in the streaming player.

I just want to 2nd what @atc98092 said in his last post. Use my TV as a web browser would be at the bottom of my very long list of devices that could run one. It really doesn't not seem like it could ever be optimal.

For me I'd much rather have Roku focus on its core features and functions and any time and money spent away from those area would not be a wise idea. That completely my own personal opinion but I couldn't agree more with @atc98092

don’t need or want a web browser on your roku . If you do not have a viable solution to this problem, then you have nothing to say . Unless roku is paying you . Thank you .
