Is Roku ever going to create a Tablet?

Jump to solution

Can anyone please tell me if ROKU will ever create a Tablet? They have made a TV… so why can’t they create a tablet? My challenge is this: my mother is in a nursing home and she has the Roku TV (she doesn’t know how to work it b/c she has dementia) so I bring in a tablet when I am feeding her or just sitting and visiting. I will try to put on Prime movies, etc. BUT There are streaming channels that she likes best that are only on the Roku app.. so I can’t play the channel she really likes. I have no issue with purchasing a tablet!! Please Roku, if we have no way of watching certain channels could you please create a tablet!?

Hi, @commercialfree

Thanks for letting us know! No worries. We'd be more than happy to assist you further with this.

If you launch your Roku mobile app, kindly look for the Apps on Roku category. It is usually placed at the center part of the screen. Select the movies/TV shows you want to stream and then choose Watch now on mobile app to stream it on your mobile/tablet.

Regarding your request, we will make sure to raise this with our team as your satisfaction is essential to us. If there's anything else you'd like us to address, feel free to let us know. We'd be more than willing to listen and take action.

Hope this helps!

Carly

Hi @commercialfree,

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community!

We understand that you are inquiring about Roku creating a Tablet. We love the idea, and we would like to share this with the team for review. In the meantime, you can watch and stream content from The Roku Channel on any mobile device and tablet. For more information about this, kindly refer to this link: Roku mobile app

Thank you again for your suggestion and for taking the time to share it with us. We value your input.

All the best,
Kash

@RokuTakashi Thank you so much for responding! I have looked at the app several times and I do not see where I can watch anything from my tablet / phone. Of course I do know about controlling the tv with my app (and THE BEST feature is that we can listen without disturbing others with the headphone Jack / or speaker phone option) but I still do not see an option to watch anything away from the device (TV or tv with roku device attached) please excuse my ignorance as I have tried to figure this out if you are saying that it can be done could you please explain exactly how? This would be a HUGE help to me when I am with my Mom. Thank you in advance for help and YES PLEASE ask the Roku developers if they could create a tablet where I can take on the go! THANK YOU THANK YOU!! We have been using Rokus for many years and I tell everyone about them and how EASY they are! We have them on all of our televisions.
