How do I remove the audio guide voice when pressing volume keys?
Maybe it's this:
A feature called Audio Guide announces where you are in the Roku menus for the benefit of the visually impaired. At some point you probably hit the * key four times in a short period of time. This is a shortcut that toggles the Audio Guide feature on and off, so four quick presses of the * key should turn the Audio Guide feature back off.
To deactivate the four-* trigger shortcut altogether use menu path Settings > Accessibility > Shortcut (in the Audio Guide section) > Disabled
I tried all of the suggestions, but I still cannot get rid of the voice on the volume. Is there anything else I should try?
@connie53, do you have a RokuTV or a Roku device connected to some other TV?
I also have followed the instructions (press volume control four times in short order and Disabled Shortcut completely). No luck in eliminating the voice prompt on the volume control. What is next step in solving this glitch?
@CS2023, do you have a Roku TV or a Roku player connected to a TV? If the latter, that voice is coming from your TV and you'll have to go through the TV's setup menu to disable it. If you have a soundbar connected to your TV, it could also be coming from that.
