One of my sticks has now decided it's a good idea to factory reset randomly whilst on this bug...
Ugh.....
Even this forum is awkward to use, everything Roku is such a bind. Bad taste in mouth.
and to top everything off, this thread has been marked as SOLVED.
Presumably to make the system look good.
That just about sums up Roku. Pretend everything is fine. Carry on.
Seriously marking this issue as solved when it is clearly still an open issue?
I found a 'fudge' work-around if you or your housekeeper can do this prior to guest arriving:
Once Roku has been rebooted / guest mode reset, and you are presented with a working welcome screen, login for your next guest (set checkout day to be the real checkout day) then go to system settings / power and turn off power management. Leave the Roku in this mode. It will continue to work for the duration of the guests stay.
I’m having the same problem at my Airbnb. I have to manually exit guest mode for all of my TVs every time someone checks out. When the guest attempts to exit guest mode, they get a message that says “oops. There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again later.” I’ve been having this issue for at least three months. It definitely undermines the main value of having Roku devices in a short term rental. Really looking forward to a fix.
