I'm having trouble with closed captions. I can access CC via individual apps (Netflix, Hulu) but they are not working on my cable service--I have Directv. The Directv service is connected via cable, I do not use the Directv app. The cc disappeared about 1 week ago.

Hi @Rambowie22,
Thanks for posting here in the Community.
For many channels, closed captions can be activated from the settings of your Roku device.
For more information, visit this Support link: How to enable closed captioning.
Let us know if this works for you!
Warm regards,
Lianna
@Rambowie22 Is this a Roku TV? If the captions are working on Netflix, Hulu, etc... the issue is likely not related to Roku but the Directv service. Have you checked with Directv about this issue?
@Rambowie22 For Directv
I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work.
Yes, this is a Roku tv.
The remote for this Directv receiver doesn’t have a remote to access CC. The Roku tv is the source of CC. Roku CC were working 2 weeks ago. As stated, I’ve tried restarting, I’ve reset to factory default, I’ve test other apps. The only area with issues is the Directv input. It is a direct cable hookup.
Hi @Rambowie22
Thanks for the note.
Some channel manages their own content programming, including closed captions on content. Reach out to the channel If changing the captions on the Roku settings does not resolve the issue.
You can reach Direct TV support here

Karla
The problem is not with Directv—CC are working on the app and my other TV as well. I’ve searched the community and support forums here and there are many similar reports of CC issues with Roku.
