Hi, How can I disable the annoying startup sound? It's annoying. I have to hit the mute button on the remote every time it starts up. I couldn't find a setting to turn it off. There must be one though. I can't possibly be the only person annoyed by this.
Thanks
What Roku device? Is this a standalone Roku, or a Roku TV? If a TV, what brand (Onn, TCL, Roku, etc...)
It's a standalone streaming Roku device. Not a TV.
What model? You can go to Settings/System/About to get the exact model number. I have and have had several Roku's, and there is no power-on or wake-up sound that I know of. On a reboot, you get some sound effects with the moving Roku letters, but that is it. Maybe it's some screensaver?

,,, or maybe a sound from the TV itself when it starts up?
There are some musical tones accompanying the dancing R O K U letters when doing a full reboot. This happens when starting up from a full powered-down condition. If you are powering from the USB port on the TV, it may be that the port itself powers down when the TV is off. There MAY be a setting on the TV to control this, or you can instead power the Roku by plugging it into your house power using a USB power adapter so that the Roku stays booted up. If you don't have a Roku adapter handy, one from some other device can be used, just be sure the fine print on it says its 5v output is at least 1 amp (1000 milliamps). More amps is OK, the Roku will only draw what it needs.
Yes. That is the sound that I am referring to at power up/reboot with the dancing Roku letters.
I am not interested in leaving it powered up all day. I don't watch that much TV. And I don't want to waste energy leaving stuff powered on when not on use.
So, bottom line, there is no setting to disable it?
Thanks
