I am here because we bought the AD FREE Roku stick a few years ago and suddenly are now seeing ads! WE PAID MORE for this version, specifically! We should NOT be seeing any banner ads at all on this Roku and I need it fixed immediately.
Please help! It's a 3930X Roku Express from 2021.
If you are complaining about the addition of video ads to the home screen, try making this change on all of your Roku devices:
Go to Settings/Accessibility/Autoplay video, and change it to OFF.
This will only stop video ads, not the static ads, which have been on Roku for a long time. As other have posted, the right-side static ad has been there since my first Roku in 2016.
There was never an ad-free option unless it was some kind of scam.
Incorrect. There were two different versions for sale. The Ad-Free version was more expensive.
We have not had any ads on this since we bought it in 2021 until recently. I thought it was a glitch so I restarted it and waited but it keeps happening, so that's why I came here.
I think you may be confusing Roku with Kindle? I know the latter makes an ad-free version. I've never heard of an ad-free Roku, and the model number you listed was a standard Roku Express.
