We are shopping for a new Hisense Roku TV but we need to know what files types are supported when streaming video via USB on the TV

Also what max size can be used for external HD or USB stick?

That might be a good question to ask Hisense tech support as they would know the specifications and differences with their TV sets.

As for maximum size of HD, depends on partitioning (and seperate/dedicated power supplies for the HD) and if/how Roku Media Player sees it.

This thread is indicative of user experience. (larger 1tb to 5tb "should" work).  I have 1tb and 2tb Western Digitals in my setup that I run through various DLNA sources to the Roku Media player on my devices. (they are not directly hooked up to the Roku TV or a Roku device, but connected to seperate devices like my routers and laptops to share across the entire network).
