Re: TCL Roku TV weirdness on time remaining showing randomly on screen during program

Hey, @901Wright.

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thanks for sharing this here. We understand that a timer pops up on your TV screen when streaming, and we'd like to figure this out for you

To know more about it, a little info would help us.

  • When did you start noticing this issue?
  • Is this happening on all channels or only on a specific channel?
  • Will this occur when you're not doing something with the remote after a long period of time? If so, a sleep timer or bandwidth saver might be enabled on your Roku. Here's a link to know more about it.
  • Lastly, a photo can be super helpful for a closer look.

Please get back to us!

Best,

Re: TCL Roku TV weirdness on time remaining showing randomly on screen during program

@RokuEmmanuel-D  Thank you for responding!

It first started this week and it is on all channels and apps. It happens when I first turn the TV on and all the time I am watching. I have checked and the sleep timer is not on and I have done a system restart as I saw that as a suggestion somewhere else on the community for glitches.  It is very random and is happening more and more often, five times while I’ve been typing this message.IMG_1767.jpeg

Re: TCL Roku TV weirdness on time remaining showing randomly on screen during program

Thanks for the extra details, @901Wright!

Have you tried removing the batteries on your remote when it is happening? It could be that your remote is sending a random signal to the TV, making it pop up on the TV screen often.

Let me know what you find out!

Yes @RokuEmmanuel-D, that hasn’t helped.  Just tried it again.

@RokuEmmanuel-D I

left the batteries out overnight and it seems to be working correctly now.
