I just saw someone's cellular device mirrored on my Tcl TV, they were googling pornhub on my TV in my living room from where ever they are, is there anyway I can find out who was connected, either through my WiFi or TV? Is there a history on devices connecting or mirroring ?? I am not very Tech knowledgable or savy Does anyone know??? Please HELP❣
You could log into your router and see who is connected to your network. If there's something there you don't recognize, your WIFI network could be compromised. Someone may have figured out you SSID and password. Question, did you change default WIFI SSID and password that came with your router? If you didn't, it would be very easy for some one to get into your network. My advice change your SSID and password. Then you'd have to change the SSID and password for all the WIFI devices you have. Then see if it stops.
Thank you sooo much, I'll wait and have my son do that, I also thank you for your quick response, I truly appreciate it. You mentioned that I could check on my router. Oh dear opps got it, now is there not a way to see who's logged on my WiFi?
Yes, my son changed all that for me right after the young man left after setting me up.
One more question, would u mind telling me how I'd log on to my router?
I don't know what router you have but it's usually web page. You type in the address, usually something like 192.168.1. and one last number usually a 1 but not always. If you have a manual, check that. To see how to log in then look for connected devices. Best bet get someone to help you check out the router.
Yes To, you're right, I'll just wait for my son to do it.. Thanks again🙂
If your son doesn't know, download NMAP and run a scan from your PC to your TV client IP on same subnet. It should produce what ports are open. Depending on what firewall you have you can block those ports that are open and unneeded. Tvs are always broadcasting over ports outside of 443, 53, and 80. Most of which are telemetry and other BS that collects info on you. Another great way to stop some of this is installing a Raspberry Pi and installing PiHole, a DNS sink hole, that blocks a lot of these unwanted and needed services that will also speed up your internet because your not eating up your bandwidth with these unneeded programs. I'm sure you son blacklisted the mirror casted mac address device. There is that option as well. You can also change your dns provider in your router to cloudflares family and malware servers where it blocks porn and malware and has a list of hijacked dns servers that they will block you accessing.
