Does anyone have an answer for this yet? My 65” Onn Roku TV does this at least once a day. It will freeze up, then restart multiple times. Usually takes 5-10 minutes before it finally allows me to watch whatever app I’m trying to watch at that time. Seems to be a Roku problem. Not TV manufacturing problem?
Mine started this yesterday 10/25, Westinghouse Roku TV. I did multiple resets, unplugged it for almost 24 hours, tried the update with the USB and no internet connection and its now been stuck in a continuous reboot loop for close to an hour. It gets me to the "Please don't turn your tv off" right after it says it updated and then just runs through continuous off and on and the Roku TV pops up on the screen then shuts off and right back to it. I don't even have this tv 4 years. Tried the reset button, power reset, factory reset, recovery mode, setting the tv up without internet and connecting from the settings menu and NOTHING IS WORKING
I have already tried all of that multiple times. The tv was unplugged overnight and as soon as it was plugged back in it started with the Roku TV screen and restarting over and over again.
OMG people have tried this for months and months and it is not working. Is this the best we can do. I have heard people going to eBay to purchase electronic boards. Most say that has fixed their problem. I think Roku should be buying those boards for people if that is actually the problem. It’s a nightmare to have to wait five minutes for your TV to come on. If you can actually get it to come on
here let me help since ever the mods for this company don’t want you to know. “Delete and replace the app” shut up and give us what we want. Cache clear buttons and proper resets. Okay so from the Home Screen.. push HOME 5 times.. UP 1 time.. REWIND 2 times.. FAST FORWARD 2 times. This performs a cache clearing reset of the TV… No Sadat is lost just the built up of unnecessary cache
THANK YOU THANK YOU that worked!! I'm making sure I save your comment in case this happens again. Thank you again!
Wait what. From the “Roku Tv” frozen reboot cycle did you do what comment above you said and it worked? Like youre not even at main menu cuz itwouldnt make it past start up… that helped?
sorry for not replying way earlier but I got in contact with Roku Support since I was sure I was under the 1 year manuf. warranty. Ran some troubleshooting and nothing worked so theyre picking my Malfunctioning one and Dropping a New one
I was able to get to the recovery mode purple screen by pushing the reset button on the back for 15 seconds, chose the option to not connect to the internet, it gave me the url to get the "update" downloaded onto a USB. Once I got through that sequence it took me to the setup screen that comes on the first time you turn it on and have to set the tv up. Again I did the setup except chose to not connect to the internet and once it took me to the Home screen is when I did the sequence that was suggested! Once you hit the last button they stated you can't hit anything else or it won't work (I had to do it twice because the first time I hit a button because I thought it froze up but it didn't, it was just processing). It like "shutters" between the settings and home option then it will restart. It came back up on the setup screen but this time it left me connect to the internet, update, restarted and has worked just fine since!
Hi @zarty10,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you are facing with your Roku TV constantly rebooting and the steps you took to resolve it.
In this case, we recommend enabling a feature on your Roku TV called Fast TV Start. This feature lets you wake your TV and perform various actions using voice commands.
You can enable Fast TV Start on your Roku TV at any time using the instructions below:
You may check out our Support article to learn more, including which players support this Fast TV Start feature.
Please keep us posted on what you find out, and we'll continue assisting you from there.
All the best,
chel
re: enable fast start....Please tell us how anyone would enable Fast Start when the TV never makes it to the Home screen. Just Roku TV ---> Recovery----> Installing (up to 100%) ----> Restarting -----> NOTHING. It's been repeating this sequence for hours and now days despite numerous unplug, push and hold button, reset router, etc. Besides, I'm nearly 100% sure that Fast Start was already enabled before the latest UNWANTED, UNNEEDED Roku "update" happened
