Re: TV says excellent signal but can't stream for 1 second

Hi @Bags95

Welcome to the Roku Community.

We would like to gather more information about the issue you are seeing. Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device? Could you provide specific details about what update have you experienced recently, is it with the channel, the network connection, or the Roku OS on your Roku TV?

With more detailed info, we will be able to isolate the problem.

I’m having the same issue, across channels or platforms. I get into Disney or Peacock, choose a show and just get a black screen.

Hello @AliceNY

Welcome to the Roku Community.

We certainly understand that when you tried to stream the said channels and received a black screen. Have you tried restarting your Roku device/TV and see if it helps? In some cases, restarting the device resolves most issues that occur. We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.

If the issue persists, could you tell us how are you powering your Roku device? Is it connected to the USB port of the TV or to a wall outlet? Even though your Roku device may appear to be working, running with insufficient power can lead to instability, crashing, and other unpredictable behavior.

We suggest plugging your Roku into a working power outlet in the wall and monitoring if there's any difference after.

Keep us posted.
