I have a 20 inch LG TV with an HDMI port but no HDMI ARC port and appears not to support ARC in settings. It also has no optical port for the alternate option to connect the StreambarSE. I have limited space on a shelf in my computer cabinet and the smallest ROKU TV was 1/2 inch too tall to upgrade. TV was manufactured in 2008 so technology may be too old. Any alternative for optical connection? ROKU stick works in HDMI port but was hoping to get better sound.

Thanks for the advice. I just couldn't get past the setup issues with the old TV and wasn't getting sound. I decided to bite the bullet and retire the 17 year old model and get a new 24 inch LG that supports HDMI ARC and now I'm getting great sound through the StreambarSE.

Re: TV does not suppport HDMI ARC and has no optical cable port for Optical cable
If you're only interested in streaming, the Streambar doesn't need to be connected to optical or ARC. It will give you sound for any Roku app you're using. You won't get sound through it for anything else connected to the TV or from antenna channels, but you may not need that. Just connect it to the same input you were using for the stick.
