Hi guys, I have a new TCL ROKU TV 55S431, when I watch YouTube video's that are HDR 8K after about 3-4 minutes I get a pop-up message saying "device is overheating " I only get this warning while watching YOUTUBE HDR 8K video's , is anyone else having this issue? Thanks much for any info
I think you need to contact TCL directly not roku teams.
Hi, thanks much ...I did contact or I should say they finally gave me a answer, said it's probably a software issue it can't handle 8k content witch is BULL****, my roku altra plays it no overheating. Thanks again, be safe out there..happy new year.
Oh ok 🙂 ! Are you using the YouTube software on your TCL ?
Because if the title is like AMAZING 8K video your tv will not actually stream at 8K. The maximum for the 55S431 is 4K so normally in the YouTube setting menu you will see 2160p60 HDR (4K).
Right ! On TCL roku TV, YouTube app ,videos say 8k , TV plays videos but colors look over done and pop-up message saying warning "device is overheating ". But now as I'm watching a video that's 4k I'm getting that pop-up again and this TV is supposed to have no problem with 4k picture, it's a piece of **bleep** !!!! Lesson learned !!! Thanks again.
