I spent an hour on the phone with TCL support this morning, re-doing every single trouble shooting tip and the end result was that my TV was out of warranty, so unless ROKU creates the fix to unlock this software loop, I'm out of luck. Very disappointing.
My older TCL has never had an issue, but this was a big FUBAR between TCL and Roku that needs resolved.
Following up.. Been a quiet week, hoped for some sort of possible solution by now. Hard reset / recovery has no effect for most.
For the lucky ones like me with a TV just outside of warranty they are essentially E-waste at this point, can we get access to the USB images archive? Perhaps an old version can be used to coax some of these back to life.

I left my tv unplugged for two days and when I plugged it in today it downloaded the update again through a wired connection to my router. This time when it restarted it exited the loop and factory reset on its own. I’m thankful I don’t have to get a new tv, as mine is only two years old. Hopefully the problem gets resolved for all the customers and this doesn’t happen again.
My TV just started the recovery mode loop.
Non stop.
Unplugged, press and hold the reset button on back, different LAN connections, different LAN cables, all the options, update, factory reset, and reboot. Nothing stops the loop.

Tried the USB fix and the TV says the current software is more up-to-date. Downgrade is not allowed.
Thank you for your help,

Plugged mine back in after leaving it unplugged yesterday, reset and updated and it finally worked again!!
Is there a fix coming anytime soon? Or a discount code for a new tv? Or SOMETHING? My tv has been blocked up like this since August and it feels like Roku doesn’t care.
They don't care, probably a ploy for planned obsolescence . See my other posts, it takes several attempts. be sure to hold the reset button though the reboot and experiment with the release moment. I did leave it unplugged for some time, but upon plugging it in, it would still return to the recovery screen, but maybe its all of these factors combined.
My son's TV has done the same. I have tried everything on here to no avail.
