TCL 55s405 Roku TV not detecting DD+ through ARC

Jump to solution

I've had my roku TV for a while and hadnt used an AVR till recently. I noticed it does send a digital stereo signal and when i do custom and set dolby digital i do get surrpund but its a hit and miss. My AVR does support DD/DD+/DTS/DTS ES. Although it is an older model. It does support ARC. I'm using an ARCAM AVR380.

I used to use this on an LG TV and it worked flawlessly. I'm just wondering if there is some sort of setting that I'm missing.

Hi @Addagro,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We would be happy to look further into this issue but we will need more details. Can you please provide us with the following information:

  • Was the audio delayed or out of sync?
  • Have you tried unplugging and plugging all the external devices connected to your device, securing all wires intact?
  • Have you tried performing a system restart on your Roku TV? This simple fix might help. You can do this by going through Settings > System > Power (skip if option unavailable) > System Restart.

Please keep us posted.

Regards,
Janadee

Hi Janadee,

The tv doesn't detect dolby digital plus or dts through ARC. I've tried replaving the cables, doing a system restart after every change. Nothing seems to help.  The only thing I've been able to do is set the digital audio output to custom and there i get dolby digital but not digital plus. When i set it to dolby digital some content works with surround but majority does not.
