I have a samsug smart tv and comcast for my tv provider. I want to set up the roku sound bar to the tv and use it for the audio portion of the tv. i don't want to stream how do i do this

Attach the Roku soundbar to the hdmi-ARC on the tv, that way the audio from other devices connected to your tv will go through the soundbar too. Without a hdmi-arc, you would need regular hdmi and optical cable between the tv and roku soundbar.

This is a great solution. I already had my stuff set up this way. However I cannot get the Xfinity flex remote to control the volume on the sound bar. Any help would be great!

If your tv recognizes the soundbar as cec device, then all you need to do is program the Flex remote for your tv code, the tv volume will control the Soundbar.
