Sharp Roku Blinking on and off on its own.

My 65” Sharp Roku tv randomly stopped working. It’ll turn on, show “SharpRokuTv” for literally 2 seconds, and shut off. But it blinks and does that about every 30 seconds without hitting the power button on the tv or remote. We switched the power plug, made sure the power button wasn’t sticking, and tried to unplug it and plug it back in multiple times. Idk how to fix it.

Re: Sharp Roku Blinking on and off on its own.

It should have a reset button somewhere on the back, but it could be hard to locate and may require a paperclip or something similar to depress.  If it does, with the power connected press and hold the button for no less than 30 seconds.  If it doesn't have a reset button or the procedure doesn't work you'll have to contact Sharp as they're the manufacturer.

Re: Sharp Roku Blinking on and off on its own.

No.  Sharp didn’t manufacture the Sharp branded Roku TV sets between 2015-2019 themselves.  Hisense was licensed to manufacture the sets by Sharp.  Sharp was lather bought out by Foxconn (also known as Hon Hai) in 2016, along with Belkin and SMART Technologies.  Then between 2017-2018, the quality of the Hisense manufactured sets resulted in Sharp filing a good ol’ law-suit against them, ‘cause at that time, Sharp felt that Hisense used the licensing inappropriately.  It was after 2019 when the TV electronics division of Sharp reverted back to Sharp themselves, ‘cause Hisense learned from their mistakes at the time so they decided to end their partnership with Sharp.

Therefore, if the Sharp branded RokuTV is a Hisense manufactured set, prior to 2019, the OP would need to contact Hisense instead.  If they contacted Sharp, the Sharp company would probably respond with, “Excuse us? We did not manufacture that set.  Our TV business was sold to that inappropriate Hisense company at the time.”

I’m into videotapes and old electronics stuff, including extenders, converters and analog 4:3 TV sets (which are obsolete these days), and Miss Bianca is my favorite character in Disney’s The Rescuers (1977) and its sequel, The Rescuers Down Under (1990). Re: Sharp Roku Blinking on and off on its own.

We have replaced the batteries in the remote and contacted the SHARP support group she said it was a ROKU problem, not the  ROKU TV problem. When I contacted the ROKU support group they said it was a SHARP tv problem. Both parties have no idea what the problem is but when you look at UTUBE there are many examples as to how to correct the problem but none have worked for me so far. The remote " home " button will not work because the tv will not stay on long enough to depress the button. Both ROKU and SHARP are passing the buck to each other without any idea of what the problem is. My next tv will not be  a SHARP or any brand that the corporation makes. There is an answer some where but where I do not know.
