Roku keeps dropping MeTV Toons in Charlotte market

Jump to solution

I have a Roku TV and use an antenna to watch live local TV. My problem is that I can never keep MeTV Toons because my Roku TV keeps dropping the channel without explanation. I have contacted the affiliate and they have responded and I believe them that it is not on their end, but Roku is at fault. To make it more complicated, MeTV Toons is on 18.9. I get every channel from 18.1-18.8 and they NEVER disappear. Channel 18 is one of the strongest signals I receive on my TV. I have contacted Roku and all I got was "we will look into it," but I never received an update. Is Charlotte the only city having this issue or are other markets experiencing a similar problem? Maybe it's not MeTV Toons, but another channel where you live? It is extremely aggravating.

To clarify, the channel will be there one minute, I will turn the TV off and without scanning channels, I will turn it back on and the channel will be gone entirely.

Hi @MovieAddict,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We'll be glad to assist you even more regarding this concern that you have with the lost antenna channels.

You may be able to receive free “over-the-air” TV broadcasts from nearby TV stations, depending on where you live, using an HDTV antenna. The placement of your HDTV antenna can affect which TV stations you can receive and the quality of the signal. You can refer to the webpage Antenna Web for more information on accessing broadcast TV in your area.

We hope you'll find this information useful. Please keep us posted if there's anything else we can do to assist you.

Best regards,

This did not help at all. The problem is I GET the channel for 18.1-8 but 18.9 sporadically disappears and it is gone for weeks while it is available for days. If it were a different channels, say 20.1 instead of 18.9 and I did not get the rest of the sub-channels, it would make sense. However, when I can keep re-scanning until I get the channel on 18.9, watch the channel a few days, then go back to the channel and the TV automatically resets itself WITHOUT a rescan of the channels and the channel disappears, that is not a signal issue. Add to that the fact that I have contacted WCCB and they have assured me that 18.9 has NEVER stopped broadcasting since its debut. Again, 18.9 is broadcast from the same source as 18.1, 18.2, 18.3, and so on through 18.8. I NEVER lose the other 18s, JUST 18.9. Please make it make sense, explain it to me like I am a 5 year old, because every response I get is "signal" or "location" or "antenna" like I don't know what I am talking about...
