I connected my Roku Streambar to an Analog to Digital Audio Converter using an optical audio cable.

I then connected my old smartphone with a headphone jack to the Analog to Digital Audio Converter using a 3.5mm audio cable.

There was absolutely no problem playing music from the smartphone through the Roku Streambar.

I understand that, but will the Streambar function as just a dumb soundbar if you connect an optical cable and do not connect to an hdmi port.
