Tams please try this. When you do this wait for your TV to reboot. It may look like nothing is going to happen but it will 

  • Go to the home screen. Make sure you're on the home menu item. 
  • Press the home button 5 times
  • Press up once
  • Press rewind twice
  • Press fast forward twice
  • The screen will freeze for up to 30 seconds, then the device will reboot.

Try this. Wait for your tv to reboot. 

  • Go to the home screen. Make sure you're on the home menu item. 
  • Press the home button 5 times
  • Press up once
  • Press rewind twice
  • Press fast forward twice
  • The screen will freeze for up to 30 seconds, then the device will reboot.

it's been happening to me too only about a week so far but exactly the same.  any fixes yet?  very annoying....

What fixed the issue?

Please explain where you got your resolution or what you did.  Was it on a ROKU TV or on a Roku Stick?

Um, not sure how this is supposed to work on Roku TV.  Is this for a Roku TV or the Stick?  When I try this my menu just bounces around and I never get to a freeze point and hence it never reboots.  

Can you clarify please?

This only just started happening to my TV just about 2 or so weeks ago, around the beginning of June 2023,  Was there an update that took place that made this happen?  Can I undo this?

Also, in this thread it talks about going into the system and clearing the cache in the Netflix and Amazon App, but this menu does not have an "APP" feature anywhere.  I've looked all over the place for anything to do with "Cache" and I cannot find a thing on the subject.  Is there a place I'm not looking?  Is there a secret code to get into this secret place?

BTW, if it helps any, I have the Philips 65" TV: model 65PFL4864/F7W Software Version: 12.0.0 Build 4182-A2.

PLEASE - I beg you - I would really like to get into this secret society to debug this TV so I can watch TV while eating a meal without getting frustrated and throwing my chicken fingers at the screen!
