Happy to hear you found a solution. However, not so happy for my own situation, as not all TVs have that "Sound leveling" option, and mine fall into that category, so I'm just out of luck. I think my only option to increase the volume on those channels needing it, is to run the sound out to external speakers...
The TV in my living room is the same as yours. I haven't tried to adjust to sound on that one because it is hooked up to speakers (movie theater vibe) but I can try to figure out how to do it with these options that we have as well. My bedroom TV was more important for me since that's where I am in the evening. I will figure it out and get back to your comment. Trust me, having the TV on 30 is loud enough now instead of going to 100 and it still sounding the same.
It doesn't have the option either. It's hooked up to an external speaker as well, but I will figure out how to do it on then post w
Absolutely NONE of your suggestions work and the TV is just an overpriced POS that I’m running over with my car tomorrow and then telling every streamer I know to avoid Roku products like the plague.
That doesn’t work and you know it…
Gathering reports? That’s a lie. It’s been over a year and there’s STILL no advice here that actually works.
Sure, blame ONN for your lousy product.
This is how I got mine to work. I had to put a movie on in order to get to the settings (*) menu. If yall can't find this option that's not my fault. I have a new ONN tv in my bedroom that the volume was not working right with. I set it to this and now it's working. So if it isn't working for yall then yall ONN tv is bad in my opinion.
Thank you for the information! I bought a new onn Roku tv about a year ago, and I started having trouble with the volume on it several months ago, where no matter how high I turned the volume up, the actual sound wouldn't increase past 60 although the volume numbers on the screen would go up to 100! It was so annoying, especially at night when I have an air conditioner and a fan running, and I could barely hear anything! I have searched multiple times for solutions to fix the volume on my Roku device, but none of their recommendations have ever worked. So tonight, after spending over an hour searching once again for a solution to fix the volume problem on a Roku device, and trying every suggestion without success, I decided to search for solutions for low volume levels on my particular tv brand, which is an onn Roku tv. Low and behold, your comment was one of the 1st ones I saw, so I tried it using your suggestion, and it fixed the problem! Before, the volume would stop at 60, and wouldn't go any louder even though the volume numbers would go up to 100, but after trying your solution, the volume is louder at 40 than it ever was at 60! And it doesn't stop increasing until it reaches 100, which is loud enough to hear down the street...lol! And this is obviously a problem with the onn Roku TVs, because our 65" TCL Roku tv in the living room doesn't do that, nor does the external Roku stick on the 55" Samsung tv! I will be forever grateful to you for taking the time to post the solution to this obviously common problem! I hope others who are experiencing this problem with their onn Roku tv, have the wherewithal to search for this particular tv, instead of wasting their time trying the suggestions that are recommended for a Roku device...which are no help at all!
AugustW, I bought a new onn Roku tv less than a year ago, and several months ago I started having problems with the volume. No matter how loud I turned it up, the volume would stop increasing at 60, even though the volume numbers shown on the screen would go up to 100, and the volume at 60 was very hard to hear, especially at night with my a/c and fan on! I have searched and tried everything that has been recommended for a Roku device, for several months, and not a single suggestion has worked. So tonight, after over an hour of searching again, I tried searching for the particular tv...onn Roku tv...and I tried the 1st and only solution I saw, and I'll be **bleep** if it didn't solve the problem! My tv is now louder at 40 than it ever was at 60, and the volume doesn't stop increasing, it continues to get louder the higher you turn it up...at the max of 100 you can hear it down the street...lol. You have to put the tv on a station, unlike Roku suggestions have you doing everything from the home screen and in settings. I just picked a streaming app...Peacock actually...and when it started streaming, I hit the * button on the remote. When the pop up menu comes up, go down to "sound settings", then choose "sound mode" and put it on "auto". Then on "customize sound mode", choose "leveling". I promise you, much to my amazement, it actually worked! It is obviously a common problem with onn Roku TVs, especially reading all of the comments about this particular issue, because our 65" TCL Roku tv in the living room doesn't have this problem, nor does the external Roku stick on the 55" Samsung smart TV in my husbands room!
