Old television. Spectrum Cable but not their internet

I am thinking of purchasing the Roku device to attach to an older television so I don't have to pay for the cable box but was told that unless my cable and internet were both with Spectrum I might lose my local channels.

Is this true?

Re: Old television. Spectrum Cable but not their internet

Hi @jazzlauri,

Hello and welcome to the Roku Community! We appreciate you reaching out to us with your inquiry.

To begin with, Roku devices are designed to stream online content, and they require an internet connection to function. This means that you can easily connect your Roku device to a different TV using an HDMI cable and an active internet connection, and enjoy your favorite shows and movies seamlessly.

Moreover, you can still watch Live TV on your Spectrum TV with the Spectrum TV channel.

If you need any further assistance or information, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for choosing Roku.

Best regards,

Rey
