Re: My 32" TV refuses connection to wi-fi even after Factory reset everything

Jump to solution

Hello! @Denise9,

Thanks for the post,

We would be happy to look further into this issue, but we will need more detailed information.

  • How many devices do you have connected to your network right now?
  • Can your other devices connect to the network without any issues or latency?
  • Did we recently make any changes to your network or network provider?
  • Do you have cellular data so we can try connecting your device to your hotspot?

Please keep us posted on what you find out; we will happily continue assisting you further. We look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Arjiemar

WiFi Tips:

  • WiFi signals fall better than they climb so it is better to have the device(s) providing WiFi as high as you can get like on a second floor or attic.
  • Being too close to the device(s) providing WiFi can put you in a dead spot due to the way the antennas work. It is recommended being at least 10 feet away from the device.
  • 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz:
    • 2.4 GHz: Speeds are slower than 5 GHz, but will travel over longer distances and travel trough walls and floors better. 2.4 GHz signals can be negatively affected by Microwaves and older cordless phones.
    • 5 GHz: Speeds are faster than 2.4 GHz, but will only travel over shorter distances. The signal works better "Line of Site" and does not travel trough walls or floors very well.
  • WiFi SSIDs: Both your 2.4 and 5 GHz networks should each have a unique name. Naming them the same will cause connectivity issues. This goes for any WiFi extenders you might have as well.
  • WiFi devices often have bandwidth and connection limits. Too many IoT devices or end-users can congest a WiFi network. You should consider how many things will connect to WiFi and purchase devices that meet your needs.

  • I've been doing much research on the matter. I agree with all that you say and include @HellBound . I appreciate youres and everyone else willing to help me out with solutions to better me a "Happy Streamer" . I actually am about 10' above , but one of the roommates my landlord has rented out a bedroom also taking up too much space below me has his setup. I didn't have such problems before this roommate showed up. What really steam's me up is this person who understands more about these things (my roommate) doesn't care ! I really believe he is having fun watching me struggle. Seriously! Otherwise I wouldn't need to come here looking for answers. My 36" Hisense can't update now and my provider doesn't have a hotspot I can use . He knows all this and doesn't give me any kind of advice. That's a whole other topic haha (nightmare roommates) . I'm living in a 3 bedroom condo. My other roommate must be in a better room. He isn't having any burdens with his devices .. thanks again for your support @Hellbound
