I just did a factory reset on my TV and I don't have a remote.

Has anybody else running into this? I have seen tutorials about connecting with your Wi-Fi, physically factory resetting your TV, and whatnot.

I just want to see if other people have the same mistake and if you can help me out on ways to set it up without a remote

Welcome to the Roku community, @merotdan!

Thank you for bringing the issues with your Roku TV remote to our attention.

If you're setting up a network connection and can't use the Roku app on your phone, the Roku app on your phone can only be used with Rokus that are already connected to your home network. Therefore, you must use a different method to set up a new network connection. Here are a few options:

  • To set up the Roku's network connection, use a compatible Roku remote with your Roku model. This is the simplest method by far. Please let us know your Roku model (and model number, if available), and we can help you determine which remote you need.
  • If your Roku has an Ethernet port, connect it to your local network. When you power up the Roku next time, it should find and connect to your network without any issues. After that, you should be able to use the Roku remote app on your phone again.

Visit our support page for our remote products and find the best Roku remote. You can also purchase one from our website: Roku streaming remotes that fit your needs.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to assist you.

Thanks,
