I got my roku tv brand new out of box June of 2023, so I've only used it for a little over a year. A couple days ago it would turn on to a black screen, but when you press the remote you can here the noises of it clicking on the tv, I held down the reset button on the tv for 20 seconds, I've bow been sitting here for about 2 minutes and it's still on a black screen. How do I fix this? I cannot afford a new one and it's extremely disappointing that this tv is basically brand new
Hello! @Doglover1238,

Do you have a Roku Branded TV or a Roku TV?
A Roku Branded TV is manufactured by Roku (Roku TV Select and Roku TV Plus), while a Roku TV is manufactured by a Roku Partner (TCL, Sharp, etc.).
The easiest way to determine if you have a Roku Branded TV or a Roku TV is to note where the Roku TV logo is on your TV.
For Roku-branded TVs, the Roku logo is on the bottom center of the TV.

I'm having the same problem myself did you ever fix it? The "solution" wasn't really a solution. But from what I've researched you don't need another TV but if it does need professional help then that is a real problem because it's unacceptable.
@RokuArjiemar My TCL Roku TV is working fine, it's the Roku OS that's not working properly, so there's little TCL could do to remedy my current issues. Almost nothing will play, my OTA channels only play audio, with a black screen, Netflix shows it's menus, but won't play anything, and this all began after my Roku OS was updated to 14. Is Roku's engineering team aware of these bugs? Are they working on a fix, with that be sent to my TV as an update?

Try a factory reset then done connect TV to the Internet so Roku can't ruin it with an update to attempt to force you to buy a new one.
I absolutely could not use my TV due to black screen issue. I Reset it, left it a "dumb" TV not connected to WiFi Ethernet or anything. I plugged in a digital antenna, and a third part external streaming device and now my TV works perfectly.
