Can't get activation link to set up after factory reset

I just had to factory reset my Roku TV because I was having an issue with having a strong connection but none of my apps recognizing it and refusing to work. Troubleshooting (power cycling, checking for a system update, resetting the TV/router) did not work.

Unfortunately, factory resetting has also not fixed it. I entered the email address for my Roku account to request the activation code but got an error screen that said I couldn't be reached at that address and no email. My husband also tried making a new account but had the same thing happen.

I'm not sure what to do from here? At this point my TV is essentially a rock. How do I fix this? It was working fine yesterday.

Yep, I’ve been a user for over a year and now I’m having issues. Roku better get their stuff together. These streaming services going down are unacceptable for what they charge consumers. It’s bull**bleep**

Re: Can't get activation link to set up after factory reset

Currently having the same issue. Using a TCL Roku Tv that previously worked fine, brought it to a new apartment, my roommate's roku Tv connected to the wireless internet just fine. I was able to see that I had excellent signal strength but no internet connection before I followed the recommended fix of performing a factory reset and am not locked at the Sign In/ Create Your Account page.

I get a "We can't seem to reach you" error message when I put in my email and nothing loads when I click activate with QR code. I've tried restarting, unplugging and plugging back in, and factory resetting the TV and have restarted the modem multiple times to no effect.

I do not have another connection or mobile hotspot to try or another email. This TV is now effectively useless.

Re: Can't get activation link to set up after factory reset

I am having the same issue on a BRAND NEW TV SET! It says it can't reach me via the SAME E-MAIL I USE TO LOG ON! The wait time for an agent is almost 2 hours. I am in the process of boxing the set back up and returning it to the store as it is unusable.

This is entirely unacceptable. How does this company stay in business?

Exact same issue. It also won't generate a QR code as the other option for sign in. Just loads saying it will and then nothing. We've had Roku streaming sticks for a few years now and suddenly having problems with our devices in the last month for no apparent reason

I am having the same issue and I’ve tried everything every message board has suggested. This is frustrating.

I am having the same problem. This poor guy went through a special kind of **bleep** when he contacted customer support.
