Cable Provider not Listed

New set up of Roku TV. My cable provider, Duncan Cable in Vermont is not listed. Found the way to scan for channels and receive cable now but with no channel info or guide. How do I contact Roku to add the cable company?

Re: Cable Provider not Listed

Hi @pscla
Welcome to the Roku Community!
TV Everywhere channels require that you authenticate with your cable or satellite provider to verify that you are eligible, for example, that you subscribe to Showtime to access the content in Showtime Anytime. After you add the channel to your Roku device, launch the channel and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Note: To authenticate, you will need the login credentials (username and password) for the account you created with your cable or satellite provider. If you do not have an account or have forgotten your credentials, you will need to contact your service provider.

Let us know what you find out so that we can assist you.
Best regards,
Arvy

Re: Cable Provider not Listed

Hi @pscla,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We understand you're having a problem searching for your cable provider's name since it is not listed. Help is here. If you can't see the cable provider name, you can manually set up your cable by connecting it at the back of your TV. Please follow these steps:

  1. Connect the coaxial cable from your HDTV antenna to the "Ant/Cable In" connector on the back of your Roku TV.
  2. Turn on your Roku TV, go to Home, and select Live TV. You can add Live TV by going to Settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Set up information if Live TV is missing.
  3. Follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete the setup.

If the problem persists, check out this link: How to Set Up the Live TV Input on Your Roku.

Please keep us posted on what you find out.

Best regards,

John

Re: Cable Provider not Listed

TV is remote location, i will be back there july 10th and give a try. sounds like what i did except for last step. i did not see an option; set up if live tv missing. think live tv is the roku channels, with a second live tv icon nestled that i renamed cable tv. it is where the cable channels were found after the scan with no information listed as to id or content.

Re: Cable Provider not Listed

Back in Vermont, found you can not have channel info or guide when cable company channels are offered in the "clear". Had bought 4 Roku TV's for rental unit as only TV I found with guest mode. To solve issue, set up cable channels thru Setting, TV inputs, Live TV, scan for antennae channels. Roku found all channels, but with no info. Checked "hide streaming channels in manage channel menu. Changed name of Live TV to Cable TV on Home page. Now Live TV is the Roku channels and Cable TV is the cable channels. Issue is no cable tv channel data or guide. Created PDF with channel lineup and a link to Cable company's internet guide for my guests. Will see how guests respond.
