For context: I helped my dad install an old TV in his room and connected the Roku it had. Then it started loading Sling TV constantly. We restarted the Roku, undownloaded Sling TV, and took the batteries out of the remote so we could use the app instead, problem was not solved. There’s literally nothing interacting with the TV right now and I can hear it still trying to take me to Sling TV.
Anything I can do to solve this? Before we moved the TV, it worked fine with the Roku, we even tried switching Rokus to see if it would help, but nope. Maybe it’s the TV?? But then why Sling TV??
My guess would be that something is being received by the Roku that's getting interpreted as the Sling button. Could be another (non-Roku) remote or even sunlight reflecting off of something. What happens if you completely cover the Roku so that no light whatsoever can get to it?
Thanks for the suggestion! I had some vague idea that something like that was occurring after reading some other posts with somewhat similar issues. We ended up covering it and that interrupted whatever signal it was receiving. We’re just gonna use the Roku app to control it now so we can just ignore and accept that something was bothering the signal, even if we don’t know what haha.
