A few days ago I noticed when I would try to open a show on the Paramount+ app, the blue circle that spins would just sit there and spin until the screensaver came on. This happens on both of my Roku's at home but not on my cell phone on the Paramount+ app. I have removed the Paramount+ app and rebooted the Roku. I have also done a factory reset on the Roku. What else can I try? This seems to be a specifically related to Roku issue, as the Paramount+ app works on my cell phone.
SOLVED: it was the Ubiquiti UniFi Ad Blocker, disabled it on my DMZ Network and looks like we're back in business!
thanks to those who contributed!
Have you tried unplugging the power for 30 to 60 seconds?
You might also try contacting Paramount CS and see if they are having an issue.
I have done that, all the basic troubleshooting. There are several posts outlining the same issue I'm experiencing. Sounds like a ROKU problem.
I just checked on my end and had no issues with Paramount. It is possible it is a regional/server issue or firmware/software issue with Roku (as Roku constantly tinkers with its OS) or Paramount, but most likely it is an issue with Paramount.
It would nice though if the Apps/channels/brands were more communicative with issues when they occur, so that viewers would know if there were an issue affecting some/all of its users.
Think I'll pick up a fire stick to test,
@j_in_tx, if you're using an ad blocker, disable it.
Some seem to think it is an ad blocker service used in some EERO mesh routers. If you have that, try disabling it and see if that fixes it.
Been like that for a week for me. Menus pops up everything works until you want to watch something. Then it's the infinity spinning circle until the screensaver comes on. I have tried reinstalling, says there are no updates, restarted device numerous times. All the other channels are currently playing, so it obviously isn't the Internet or the device.
Working on fire tv,just not Roku
Yep, it was the mesh ad blocker
