On November 1, 2023, looks like Newsmax will be going behind a paywall. They will end their free streams on the various streaming LiveTV services like Roku and others.
You can sign up for Newsmax+ for a free trial to continue watching on mobile/streaming devices through a standalone app.
They will apparently offer Newsmax2 (N2) for streaming LiveTV that will include some headlines and some shows for now during the transition.

This was something they bandied about during the DirectTV conflict and looks like they went through with it. It is mentioned in the above articles that this paywall decision is due to a new agreement with the cable companies that Newsmax can no longer be offered for free.
I actually bounce between Newsmax and Real Americas Voice (RAV), so looks like RAV will remain my primary channel for news. (available both via standalone channel/app and on LiveTV on Roku Channel and Pluto).

Not Paying for it. I'll watch something else. I have the Newsmax APP on my Roku. Now what??
I deleted Newsmax. What a shame. I enjoyed Greg Kelly and Chris Plante's shows. Oh well. Real America's voice will be my choice.
I love all the NewsMax programming so I will pay the $50 for a year subscription. This is a savings of $10, as if you pay monthly it’s $4.99/month. Either way, it’s well worth getting truth in the news.
NOPE! Can't afford it. I will read what I want when I want on the Internet. SCREW newsmax!
Wow no notices, no warnings, and a no go for me to pay to watch news with so many ads. Thanks for the RAV reference it looks how newsmax use to be over a year ago.
Not so much of the 2 minute rapid fire questions without a broadening conversation with guest that are plugging there book of the week. Over the last 6 months newsmax has just become more of hourly echo chamber news with no new info and the vague news ticker tape at the bottom that is nothing more than fragmented thoughts.
Looks like thats it for me with newsmax. So many people switched from the big cable companies to save money, but now it cost for everything. Not paying for news that is for sure.
I cut the cable to save money. now they want 50 a year no thanks go back to Fox since I already pay for youtube tv not gona pay for NewMax BYE BYE
Goodbye Newsmax! I am sure I will miss it but I am a senior on a budget. I cannot afford to pay for all these ala carte services. I have to limit myself to a single choice which for now is Paramount plus after ditching Hulu 6 months ago... I think they are making a big mistake especially after all those ads over the years boasting there was no pay wall. It is actually likely to harm conservative politics too as they will have fewer viewers and nobody on the far left is likely to try it out in passing or out of curiosity. it is too late now, but tell Chris Ruddy he made a big mistake..! I can't stomach Fox after all the changes. William look to see what other conservative news apps that are still free out there.
Since most of the Newsmax viewers prefer the more conservative take on the news, you can always check out the following...
Real Americas Voice (https://channelstore.roku.com/details/5e1b380d0d963b69b988490cd2a0a488/real-americas-voice)

Most of the above are free on some of the LiveTV sections of the Roku Channel, Pluto, Rumble, etc. Otherwise, they all have standalone free channels/apps. Personally, I choose to watch on Pluto or Rumble with RAV and the First TV among my preferred.
Good thing about streaming is there is always some other content to discover. Also paves the way for another up and coming OTT service to fill the void. I liked Newsmax (more so some of their early personalities), but if they wish to be the next Fox News on cable, so be it.
