Since perhaps two weeks ago, some time between about 10pm and 11pm, NBC News/MSNBC will no longer play. When you press the channel on the screen, you get the annoying clip of the moon landing, MLK and Gorbachev/Reagan then the red NOW panel etc appears, then it goes back to the Home Screen. It always works again the next day, though I'm not awake early enough to tell you exactly what time.
All the other channels work normally.
Hi @rokonkansas
Thank you for the inquiry!
Does the issue only occur on NBC News and MSNBC or across other channels installed on your Roku device?
Have you tried removing the affected channel NBC News and MSNBC and then re-install again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.
For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link for more information: How to resolve a channel playback issue | Official Roku Support.
Let us know if there's any difference after.
Warm Regards,
Lianna
same problem here (nbc news app crash after 3-5 seconds), since beginning of march 2023.
problem affects nbc news app only, despite app re-installatiion after roku 4 reboot.
roku 4 system up-to-date and placed adjacent to wifi/router.
glitch pattern points to nbc news app (version 4.0)
Hello @irisrothman
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing.
If the issue persists from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.
You can reach them here: NBC Help Center
We appreciate your understanding.
All the best,
Kariza
