Upgrading to new Roku from older Roku Stick

Jump to solution

I have an older Roku streaming stick and am looking to upgrade.   I do have a Roku account.

My question is...if I purchase a new Roku for my TV to replace my old one, will all of the 'apps' etc. that I have on the old Roku stick transfer over to the new one?

Thank you

Don

Hi, @lewbar1

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community,

We appreciate you for reaching out regarding your concern with adding a Roku device to your account, and we'd be happy to assist.

Each time you add an additional Roku streaming player or Roku TV™, you need to set up the new device and link it to a Roku account. If you use your existing Roku account, any apps that you have added to a Roku device already linked to your account are downloaded and installed on the new device automatically. In addition, a feature called Automatic Account Link automatically signs you into any supported apps that you have already logged into on your existing Roku device.

  • Note: When an app doesn't support Automatic Account Link, you may be required to enter your username and password on the new Roku device.

Automatic Account Link saves you the hassle of remembering and entering the username and password for each subscription on a new Roku device. When you have an active subscription, and you have already entered your account credentials for a supported subscription, Automatic Account Link automatically signs you into the app on your newly activated Roku device.

For more information, you can visit this support article on How to set up, or sync, subscription channels in your account on a second Roku® streaming device

If you have further concerns or inquiries, feel free to reach out to us anytime.

Best wishes,
