Issues with QVC - red button in UK

Jump to solution

Hi there,

I wonder if anybody can suggest a workaround - trying to access QVC+ via red button from QVC in the UK. It appears but on top is a data privacy notice one must agree to proceed. However, pressing OK on the TV remote simply brings up the channel programme info, and the remote arrow keys do not work either. How can I actually clear this notice? Any ideas???

I'm not really familiar with QVC and it took some web searching to come up with any match for "red button" that made any sense at all. Eventually I found this at Wikipedia: "BBC Red Button is a brand used for digital interactive television services provided by the BBC, and broadcast in the United Kingdom." and "The 'red button' name refers to the common interface on remote controls for digital televisions and set-top boxes, a red push-button that launches digital teletext services."

So, I think you may have: a TV remote, a "red button" remote, and since this is a Roku forum, a Roku remote. I think you may be trying to clear that data privacy notice with the wrong remote. Usually when something appears on a TV screen, and you can't interact with it, it's because you need to use another remote.

Banned but back. Because why not?
