I am having the same problem.  Have successfully added about 12 apps to the home screen, but YouTubeTV and Kanopy (among others) just will not appear.  It's almost like Roku has put them on a 'banned' list.

If I hit SEARCH from the main Roku window (on the left), it shows KANOPY and YOUTUBETV under 'Recent Search Selections.'  I can start the apps from there, but I cannot add either to my home screen. 

I have used Roku for many years and gone through about 7 boxes (they seem to have a finite life ... as do the remotes)..  I have never had this much trouble setting one up.  (This is one I used on my upstairs TV, but had to move downstairs because my main Roku started throwing up white static screens and making audio noises tonight.)

I'd hate to go back to the controller built into my Sony TV, but this is driving me crazy and I just don't have time for it.

Try removing them using a hidden menu option. (channel info screen).

1. Go to your Home Screen.

2. On Roku remote, press Home at least 3x.  Then press Up 2x.  Then press Left, Right, Left, Right, Left.

3. Scroll through the list in the Channel Info screen and find the affected app.  Press OK, then select 'Remove App'.

4. Press Home to close screen/menu.

5. Perform System Restart on the Roku device. (Settings/System/System Restart or Settings/System/Power/System Restart).

6. After Roku reboots, try to install the channel/app again, but this time use the device Search to install.  (do not install it from the online Roku Channel Store).

All is well now it appears.  The sling tv app icon has been on all of my tvs for about 3 or 4 days now.

Several of my Roku devices are Roku Ultra and at no point in time, either with the remote or the remote app can I go to either the app that isn't showing up on the Home Screen, either by searching or other means and then press on the app and HOLD it. Every time it simply opens up the app. There is no selection to handle the app, either to delete it or anything else.

So much for that solution. It is obvious to me that something has changed in your system that isn't allowing my Roku devices to update from the master account. My account on line, when viewed thru the PC portal clearly shows me that the app I want is installed but my devices can't access that info to populate the home screen.

That being said... if I do a 'Search' for the app it easily finds it and I can sign into it and it recognizes me and the subscription to the app makes it available to view. If and when I sign out of the app, the next time I simply have to find the app with Search again and click on it to view it. The app in this case is YouTube TV although I have seen other apps that folks are also having a problem with. I simply have not tried any other, although I have noted that my Roku devices are, and have not been, 'Synced' for some time. I used to change or add an app on one device and it was on all of them. Not so any longer... for same time.

How can I fix an app from not showing on my TV? I do not use IOS or Android. This is for my TCL Roku TV only. Please help.
