My 2 year old and 7 month enjoy watching baby Einstein and now there are ads about crime scene shows that portray violence, gun shots, yelling. Is that necessary for a children’s channel? These seems like a pretty self explanatory fix.
Hi @Anderslayton24,
Thanks for sharing the feedback here. We're sorry to hear that you're having this experience.
While we can't please everyone with the ads that are displayed, we do strive to avoid offensive images and other things that Roku users might not agree with. I'll forward your comments to our advertising department for review.
If you still need help, please don't hesitate to let us know if you got any questions.
Kind regards,
Mary
You "can't please everyone" By removing offensive and inappropriate advertising on children's channels? Almost every website or streaming service out there allows users to restrict content based on age. Why can't Roku?
You need to specify what channels/services you are seeing those ads. If they are within The Roku Channel, and not some other provider streaming within TRC or with their own channel, then Roku should have control over the ads shown. If they are within the control of another provider, even if it's playing within the framework of TRC, then Roku can't control it. That's why you have to be specific about where you are seeing the ads.
They are on the Roku home screen

Then you're not seeing them within a "children's channel". That is different than what was being claimed here.
My mistake, I thought you had responded to a different thread.
My 2 year old autistic son struggles to watch Baby Einstein now. During one single episode there has been a minimum of 15 commercials. For a children’s program I feel this is a bit excessive. Not to mention I have seen prescription, insurance, and investment commercials. And yes I have seen commercials as mentioned above as well. There used to be a couple of commercials in between each episode but now he is almost unable to watch at all because he can’t tolerate the disruption. I understand some commercials are necessary but this is ridiculous.
An ad for a horror movie just appeared on a Minecraft show my 7 year old was watching… get it together ROKU!!!!
My 5 year old just saw an advert for Viagra on the Paw Patrol channel. Wtf Roku
