IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

I'm proud to announce the release of IP Camera Viewer (two versions, Basic and Pro). Get them in the channel store while they are still warm:

Basic:

https://my.roku.com/add/IPCAMVIEWBASIC

Pro:

https://my.roku.com/add/IPCAMVIEWPRO

Both versions fully support motion-jpeg stream, PTZ for selected cameras and basic authentication. The Pro version also provides a Screensaver which will show on the screen (bouncing from side to side - aka DVD logo) the stream from one camera and Split Screen View (multiple streams in the same time).

Also, for who is interested, in my tests I was able to connect to IP Cameras with ONVIF and decode RTSP stream. You will see those features in a future update of the applications.

ONVIF will allow the application to find and configure automatically all the cameras on your network.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

I'm not sure what happened -- a new version released or some other glitch -- but all my cameras were gone from IP Camera Viewer Pro app this morning. Had to re set my cameras up, which is a real inconvenience. I hope this isn't going to happen again.

I gave the app a try. It didn't list my Foscam FI9826W. I tried every other Foscam and even tried editing the the URL but nothing seemed to work. Perhaps the next version will work for me.

I updated the application with a new feature to "easy add" camera information:

Bad news is that I submitted the update by mistake with a different key and that will erase the camera information you already entered.

Hi,
The way to see what's the link you should use in the mjpeg field, first try to see your mjpeg stream in a browser. Probably on your foscam the link will look something like:
http://192.168.1.90:8186/videostream.cgi?user=xxxxxxxx&pwd=xxxxxxxx&resolution=32&rate=0
After you find the link, in the IP field enter the IP (in the example above the IP is 192.168.1.90). Enter the port, 8186 in the example above. Leave the login/password fields blank and in the mjpeg field enter /videostream.cgi?user=xxxxxxxx&pwd=xxxxxxxx&resolution=32&rate=0, replace xxxxx with your login and password.
Let me know if that works for you.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

Could you provide a little more insight into how one would access the New Camera Information page with a web browser, please.

Also, I have set up the Screensaver but it doesn't appear to be working. When I Preview all I see is a black screen. Any suggestions on this issue?

Sure. First of all, the screen saver. When on the screen saver settings, make sure you check the camera you want to show as screensaver (like in the following picture) and then press "Save screensaver" button.

For the "easy add" feature, open the "easy add" in the roku application, and while on that view, on your computer browser, open the address shown (just type it in the address bar in your browser). This will open a page with a form for camera information. Fill it up and press save and the new camera will be saved. Note, this only works if your computer and the roku are connected to the same network.

The way it works is that while on that view screen, there is a webserver running on your roku that will serve the page with the camera form in your browser. As soon as you press back on the remote and leave the view, the webserver is stopped. In future versions I'll include on the same web page a backup and restore feature.

Nope. I even tried it with one of my TrendNet cameras and no go. Perhaps it's issues with my model Roku (2XS) or my network. To be honest, the Roku app has marginal usefulness for me. I can look at my cameras (6 of them) with an Android app or Blue Iris on Windows. I applaud and thank you for your efforts.

Did you try to select "TrendNet" from Example cameras? I have a TrendNet camera for testing and it works 100% fine:
