Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

Before buying the Pro version, I've tried to get the Basic version to work with one of my cameras. Like the previous poster, I have Amcrest cameras. The url to see the Mjpg stream in a browser is: http://user:password@IP:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi ?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1  This doesn't appear to be compatible with the program. I can't find a way to get it to work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Perhaps it was a copy and paste mishmash, but you have a space after cgi and before the question mark. If that space was there when you tested it, that would cause a failure.

Hi,
When adding a camera, put the login/password in the login/password field, the IP and port in their fields and in the mjpeg link: /cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?&subtype=1 (everything that is after the port and works in browser). Please let me know if that works for you.

Seems to work with or without the space in a browser. I'll try without a space in the app. Thanks.

The http://USER:PASSWORD@192.168.1.146:80/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi ?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1 works in chrome for me too, but still doesn't work in the program.  I have tried it with and without the space before the question mark.   edit: I filled out the IP and username fields and only entered  /cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi ?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1 in the MJPG section.

Got it working. I put "/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1" in the mjpg link field. Bought the Pro version. MJPEG from the camera is only 640 X 480. Sure would be nice if you could get RTSP working so I could do 1080p. Thanks for the app and the help.

You should try without the space before the "?"

Also, does any of you know what's the working link to get snapshots from the camera (jpeg)? If I know both working links, I could add the Amcrest cameras to the collection of example cameras

"http://user:password@IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi" works for me om my Amcrest cameras.

I added the Amcrest camera to "Example cameras". Let me know if the links that get auto filled work.

Thanks.

The Amcrest Examples worked for me.  Thanks!

+1 on the RSTP - The mjpg vid quality is pretty poor, but at least I  can see them now.
MJPEG from the camera is only 640 X 480. Sure would be nice if you could get RTSP working so I could do 1080p. Thanks for the app and the help.

Also, it would be nice if I could setup a default view when the app is launched. ie The app opens to Split Screen View.

That's a very good idea and the feature will be added to a future update.
Thanks.
