Remember that if you use any form of volume leveling or other sound mode, you will only get two channel audio if you're connected to an AVR, so no 5.1 surround.

Hulu also has a commercial-free option (for more $$ of course), I think that’s what we are looking for 🙂

My TV has a sound option to control volume for commercials. See if yours does too.

For some reason, I was able to watch shows without commercials, now they started showing them.

Were you watching on a tablet before and now are watching on a TV?  I don't think I have commercials when I watch on my tablet.

No ma,am, was watching on my Roku Express 4K+. Did a hard reset due to it cutting out then the commercials started.

I’ve been watching old shows on my phone for months with no commercials. Watched on TV, now getting commercials.
