The entire thread shows trial user's and both levels of paid subscriptions. All are experiencing the same issues.
I've read several postings where the pause occurred even with the ad-free subscription. Wouldn't pay more and still have the application pausing 3-4 times during every episode.
Will wait until it gets fixed.
If I'm not mistaken those pauses are where the commercials would go. That's the reason for the pauses. The shows are made for tv viewing and not for straight streaming play or shows that were already distributed for commercialized tv channels.
Thank you, that definitely makes sense, however there are other issues as well. Sometimes it kicks you out of the app, and after episodes the screen will just go black and you have to go back yourself a couple of times to get the show back on. It will just stay black or kick you out if you don’t. So while that might explain one issue, it is far from the only issue, and it would be nice if someone from Roku actually cared enough to read these threads.
We experience a black screen/pause between episodes. However the very next episode does automatically start up afterwards.
Only complaint we have are the ever-so-often pauses for a couple of seconds where the image freezes and then the video starts up again. I'm still waiting for a good explanation from Discovery people. Will write if any information is offered by them.
You are mistaken.
The pausing & sticking occurs in the middle of scenes & dialogue and is definitely not at the commercial break spots.

You are mistaken. Sometimes it will pause 2 or 3 times every 15 seconds then not pause for a time. It will pause right before a commercial, it will pause right after a commercial. It is completely random.
