Has anyone using Hulu, had any problems with HULU freezing or jumping back the main menu?

I switched from YouTube TV to HULU on an Amazon FireStick so the station, SNY would be available for collage basketball games.   I’ve been regretting it ever since.  I’m thinking of dumping the FireStick or HULU after March Madness.  The question is, Has anyone using Hulu on a Roku device had any problems with HULU freezing or jumping back the main menu?  I have no problem switching platforms but I also hate returning items that didn’t solve my issue.

Thanks in advance

@Beeblebrox

Been OK here. Was just watching Lost Cities Revealed With Albert Lin, yesterday afternoon.

BTW using an Ultra 4662.

I'm experiencing the same issue, only with HULU.

Hi @Beeblebrox,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Have you tried removing the affected channel and then reinstalling it? In some cases, that resolves the issue. Make sure you restart your Roku device before adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
    • Note: If you remove a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must cancel the subscription before seeing the Remove Channel option. For help identifying this type of subscription channel, read the detailed article about removing a channel.
  2. Restart your Roku device: If reaching the power cord to unplug your Roku device is inconvenient, you can restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > PowerSystem Restart > Restart. (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).
  3. Reinstall the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.
    • Note: If you add a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must re-subscribe.

Thank you for the sanity check.  I would switch platforms from FireStick to Roku but it's beginning to look like Hulu's app team is consistent across multiple platforms ... aka.. the app is garbage.

Thank you for the reply.  I don't own a Roku yet. I was considering it to replace my FireStick.  Just so you know, your suggestions are identical to those given for fixing the app on a FireStick and none of the work arounds fixed the problem.    ack to YouTube TV after March Madness on SNY. 🙂
