I recently deleted the YouTube app from my account. I set up a password that is needed to install any apps. My child went and found YouTube and was able to open it without the password. It does not appear on the Home Screen, so I cannot delete it, but it continues to open for us. Any suggestions?
Roku parental controls can help manage content on Roku, but they don't apply to external channels like YouTube. However, YouTube does have its own parental controls that allow parents to set up a way to control YT viewing. You could set that up through YT and see if that helps
Setting a PIN and requiring it to be entered when adding a channel works when attempting to add via the Roku's user interface.
Unless things have changed recently, adding a channel via a web browser on the Roku Channel Store's web pages bypasses the PIN requirement. Be sure the password for accessing your Roku account is one not known by your children if you don't want them to be able add channels.
