Can’t run channel error - cannot be reinstalled from network

Returned home from a trip and my Roku is giving a “Can’t Run Channel” message on every app on the home screen. I rebooted the router, reconnected the wifi, did a full reset of the Roku to start over and no change. I can’t access anything.

Any ideas on other things to try?

Thanks for stopping by and informing us about your channel accessibility issue. We'd be happy to suggest some troubleshooting steps to get you back on streaming. 

Before proceeding, may we know what is the model of the Roku device you are having this issue with? Perhaps you can provide us with its serial number.

In the meantime, kindly try the following:

  • Check if there are any available software versions. (How to update the software on your Roku streaming device)
  • Reboot your router/modem and your Roku device. (Settings > System > Power > System restart)
  • Connect your Roku device to an alternative network connection such as mobile hotspot/data.

Just for testing, can you connect to an alternate network like your phone's hotspot?
